As a teenager, I looked for love in all the wrong places. I partied, smoked pot and missed a lot of school. I managed to graduate high school, but I had no direction. For several years, I wandered through life trying to figure out who I was and what on earth I was meant to do. Around this time some friends came by my house. I'll never forget that day: I was standing in the kitchen making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich when my friends told me that if I needed real love and purpose I should talk to the one who knew me like no other. That day I told God that I was totally lost and didn't have a clue about where I was going. I asked Him to please step into my life and change me. He did.
Not everything has been perfect. Several years into our marriage, my husband and I realized that I was unable to get pregnant. We became foster parents who gave love and hope to children whose parents had lost their way in life.
After our foster children were reunited with their families, we decided to go to school and earn our Commercial Drivers Licenses. Now we make good incomes driving tractor trailers all over the country.
People ask me how it feels to be a woman driving such a big machine. I tell them I'm heading in the direction God intended for me.
