Child Smuggled To Harvest Organs-Pray For Our Children

The girl was taken to the UK from Somalia with the intention of removing her organs and selling them to those in need of a transplant,  reports The Telegraph . Child protection charities believe the case in unlikely to be isolated, and suspect that smugglers used a group of children. The case emerged as a government report revealed that human trafficking increased 50% in the UK last year. The report reveals that a total of 371 children were smuggled into the UK from Asia, African and eastern Europe, with most being sexually abused or used as slaves. The figures also show that 20 British girl were exploited. Charities believe that criminal gangs are seeking to take advantage of a demand for organs in the UK. Bharti Patel, the chief executive of  Ecpat UK , the child protection charity, said: "Traffickers are exploiting the demand for organs and the vulnerability of children. It's unlikely that a trafficker is going to take this risk and bring just one child into the

Bella Weems Big Idea

What a great article...had to share...a young women doing her thing...very inspiring. All Isabella “Bella” Weems really wanted was a used car. That desire set in motion a chain of events that led to the Arizona teenager spearheading what is now a multi-million dollar enterprise that she may someday control. When she finishes school, that is. Weems, now 17, is founder of Origami Owl, a custom jewelry company whose direct sales business model turns would-be entrepreneurs into salespeople and evangelists. The company, which she founded in 2010 at age 14, generated $24 million in revenue in 2012 and this year expects to reach $250 million, according to the company. Origami Owl takes on independent associates – known as “designers” – who buy products at a discount and then peddle them to others for a marked up price. One of the favorite points of sale are “jewelry bars,” or private parties at someone’s home or another venue operated by a “hostess” (the hostesses get discounts and som

Word for Today

John 4:4-26 New International Version (NIV) Now he had to go through Samaria.   So he came to a town in Samaria called Sychar, near the plot of ground Jacob had given to his son Joseph.   Jacob’s well was there, and Jesus, tired as he was from the journey, sat down by the well. It was about noon.   When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her,  “Will you give me a drink?”   (His disciples had gone into the town  to buy food.) The Samaritan woman said to him, “You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan  woman. How can you ask me for a drink?” (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans. Jesus answered her,  “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.” “Sir,” the woman said, “you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water?     Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well  and drank from it himself, as did

Seeking Man's Approval Complicates Life

God wants to search beneath the surface into the depths of your heart--much deeper into the real you.  He is not impressed with the way things appear to the naked eye. In Luke 16:15 ( NKJV) Jesus speaks of the Pharisees who justified themselves before men instead of God. And He said to them, "You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts.  For what is highly esteemed among men is an abomination in the sight of God." Many times in life we seek the approval of men and women who have rejected God.  If there are places in your life where you have departed from your first love (Jesus) and exchanged activity in front of people for true worship and duty for true sacrifice, please acknowledge this to God and ask for His forgiveness.  He wants you to grow closer to Him and hear His voice, so that you can move steadily forward on the path He has for you rather than making choices on your own that complicate your life and sidetrack you from comple

Saving Brie

My outreach to young women began many years ago.  Just barely out of high school, I joined the bus ministry at my then home church in Burlington, New Jersey.  For ten years I served as bus pastor in my community. Every Saturday morning we would meet at the church for prayer and go out into the community. I have knocked on many doors during my time as a bus pastor and have found this to be a true," You never know what go on behind closed doors".  Bus ministry gave me a front row seat.   One Saturday after prayer I started out on my bus route as usual. This time I had someone with me who was on break from bible college.  We decided after visiting my regular route, we would visit a new street.  After knocking on several doors, we came to this strange looking house.  We knocked on the door and a middle aged man answered the door. I introduced myself, told him where we were from and he invited us in.  At first we were all laugh and smiles until he shared a bit of information abo

Passionate About Purity

Jennifer grew up in a Christian home, but her parents divorced when she was young. She felt cheated and hurt as she watched other girls her age enjoy their relationship with their dad. FROM AN EARLY AGE , Jennifer loved God. She attended church and completed Bible studies at home. She listened to Christian music, wore Christian T-shirts, and read Christian books. Jennifer even signed a True Love Waits pledge to stay sexually pure until marriage. And she refused to read and watch and say things that she felt displeased God. THEN CAME MIDDLE SCHOOL . Her family moved, and Jennifer struggled to find her place among her peers. The price for fitting in with other girls was watching movies she thought she’d never watch, saying things she thought she’d never say, and going places she thought she’d never go. AT LAST SHE FIT IN . Then she met a boy. He told her she was pretty and smart. Jennifer found the daily affirmation from him she’d missed from her dad. One day at age 14, she found h

Word for Today

Psalm 20:5-8 King James Version (KJV) We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the  Lord  fulfill all thy petitions. Now know I that the  Lord  saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand. Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the  Lord  our God. They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright.

Word for Today

Ecclesiastes 9:11-12 New International Version (NIV) I have seen something else under the sun: The race is not to the swift      or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise      or wealth to the brilliant      or favor to the learned; but time and chance  happen to them all.

Cold Touch

I remember that day as if it were yesterday. That cold touch. I was in kindergarten and I had a male teacher. He was in his late 30‘s, early 40‘s. I recall jumping in and out of my seat, playing and laughing with the other children. He walked toward me and I began to settle down. I eased back into my seat. He put his hand under my dress and touched my inner thigh, near that personal place. I was scared. I backed up into my chair when I saw the look on his face. It did something to me. I never told anyone, not even my mother. What was I to say? I didn‘t understand what was going on. This cold touch continued with a trusted baby sitter who was a child molester. He touched me in those personal places and told me it was okay.  Once, when we had guests at our house, one of the men kissed me passionately on the lips. I didn‘t know what to do, so I covered my mouth with my forearm. I didn‘t want him to kiss me again. This cold touch continued with my aunt‘s boyfriend, touching me in tho

Things I Enjoy-All Things Are Possible

My first visit to a tearoom was over five years ago. It was love at first sight.  Since then I have visited several tearooms to observe and gain a better understanding of how a tearoom operates. A few years ago I offered to work for free at a near by tearoom in exchange to learn the business. Since the owner was planning to retire and had her establishment on the market, I thought it was a match made in heaven. The owner was an older woman who had been in the business for over 20 years.  Her tearoom was absolutely gorgeous. When she turned me down, I was so disappointed. The owner did not feel comfortable sharing her business knowledge with me, but I understood.  I must admit, the rejection did hurt. My thoughts were, "lady I have been a patron of your tearoom for years".  However, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. The rejection set me on a path to explore other avenues of learning the business. Months later my tea journey lead me to  a seminar offered by Bruce and

Part 2 - To All the Single Ladies

This is a word of wisdom to all the single ladies. Don‘t be fooled by the ring on your finger. He may like what he sees, tap it and put a ring on it, but he is not marrying it. There are many women who are wearing engagement rings, but not getting married. Some women have worn engagement rings for many years after accepting marriage proposals. Some women live with men for years, have children, break up, and watch as the men marry other women. So, what we have going on is women performing wifely duties with the intent of marriage. It is sad to say that the marriage proposal has been reduced to a means of sexual conquest and empty promises. A marriage proposal should be a way of saying, ―Honey I love you and I don‘t want anyone else but you. A marriage proposal should not be motivated by a desire for sexual conquest. Single ladies, learn to value yourselves. Trust God to bring a man into your life who shares your values and respects you. Take the time to get to know him. Don‘t be anx

Ask God

Ask God to cultivate character within you.  Ask Him to give you a discontent for the superficial and a deeper desire for the spiritual.  Make yourself available to His strength, His reproofs.  Seek His counsel for the things you lack.  Allow  him to help you set reasonable goals.  Record them in your journal so you will have a written account of your prayer to Him. Ask Him to help you place more emphasis on what's happening deep within your heart and less emphasis on the externals, the superficial, the temporary. How to Claim your Place as a King's Daughter

No matter what your age, it's not too late for you to claim this position in God's heart. We are all His daughters! And as a daughter of the King, you are: A joint heir with Jesus (Rom. 8:17) A fellow citizen with the saints (Eph. 2:19) The apple of your Father's eye (Deut. 32:10; Ps. 17:8) Beloved of God (Col. 3:12) Blessed (Deut. 28:1-13; Gal. 3:9) Qualified to share in Jesus' inheritance (Col. 1:12). Don't allow the enemy to continue to hold you back from all God has for you. Accept your identity and begin to walk in it! Divine Destiny  When you do, you will be on the path to fulfilling your destiny. Ephesians 1:4 says that every believer has a divine destiny determined by God from the foundations of the world, "that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love." And in Ephesians 1:17-19, the apostle Paul identifies another aspect of your calling: "That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to y

Word for Today

2 Corinthians 4:1-10 King James Version (KJV) Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. We
