As a little girl, one of my favorite things to do was not playing with dolls or barbies, although I did this quite often. And it wasn't playing dress up or jumping rope, although I did this quite often as well. My favorite thing to do as a little girl was sucking my thumb. Yes, folks I was a thumb sucker, LOL I can remember how bewildered my mother was trying to break me of this habit. She would often say, “You are going to get buck teeth”. Once she rubbed hot sauce on my thumb. I just wiped it off and kept on sucking. Knowing my mother she probably used more water than sauce. She did confess years later that it was mostly water. We laugh about it to this day. Eventually, my mother grew weary of trying to rid me of this habit. She hoped that I would grow out of it on my own as she put it.
