Sunday Morning Worship - Then Sings My Soul

Prayer and praise are two very important parts of a Christian’s devotional life.  Have you ever been so burdened or overwhelmed by your circumstances that you didn’t know how to pray or what to ask for?  On the other hand, have you ever been so excited and thankful for answered prayer that it was hard to sit still and pray?  Singing is a way to express each of these emotions in a way that is worshipful to God. God loves to hear the praise of His people, and when you pray back His Word to him, it is a sweet-smelling sacrifice of praise to Him.    Psalm 92:1 says, “It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord and to sing praises unto thy name, O most high.”   http://lauriejalbert.blogspot.com/2012/05/then-sings-my-soul.html#more

The Difference Between Remorse And Repentance

John admits. He  struggles with addiction. He is determined to beat his habit but gives in, feels bad, intends to make a change, but ends up slipping time and again. When he does, it deeply hurts his wife. He sees the pain in her face and feels bad that he has hurt her. John is remorseful but not repentant. Regret and remorse are different than godly sorrow noted in 2 Corinthians 7:10  For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death  (NKJV). Godly sorry produces repentance. It is based on a belief that a behavior is wrong and must be stopped. It motivates one to make a turn in direction and change behavior. Regret and remorse have consequences, but do not necessarily address the wrong-doing of those consequences. People get caught and can feel remorse because there are consequences to their actions. For example, you can speed down the highway, get caught and feel remorse. But you may not feel repentant o

Intimacy With God

This is the latest posting of my dear friend Veronica's blog, "Wisdom & Understanding - I know it will be a blessing to you.  Please check out her blog it is excellent. My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. John 10:27 As I wrote about in my last post, I believe this is a season of healing for me. After many years of being a part of what I now see was an abusive church situation; finally leaving there and then desperately trying to “fit in” somewhere else, only to find that I never could. I see now that while I was trying to return to what I thought would please God was only a deterrent to what He was trying to do in my life…heal my wounds and get me to know Him for myself rather than what someone had portrayed for me. In Matthew 10: 1-3 it says that Jesus called the 12 disciples and gave each of them authority to cast out demons and to do miracles.  If you’ve had some doubt as to rather or not that included Judas, read verse 3 that specifically

Sunday Morning Worship

Teach me,   Lord , the way of your decrees, that I may follow it to the end.   Give me understanding,   so that I may keep your law      and obey it with all my heart.   Direct me   in the path of your commands,      for there I find delight. Psalm 119:33-35

Loving God

I am thankful to God for the new thing He is doing in my life. I am coming to know Gods heart, His character and His love for me. God has so much more for us if we are willing to sit at His feet. Christianity is more than just saying a prayer inviting God in to your heart. It is spending time with Him, getting to know His word, His voice, His ways, becoming intimate with Him.    As His bride our desire should be to please Him only.  The question for you is, "Are you His bride or are you the guest? " Only you can answer this question. Jesus is the sweetest love you will ever experience.

Dr Myles & Ruth Munroe Gone And Will Never Be Forgotten

But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope.  For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. 1 Thessalonian 4:13-14 I was sad to learn of the death of Dr. Myles and Ruth Munroe.   Their ministry is a great loss to the body of Christ. His teachings on Purpose and Kingdom Living greatly impacted my life. A great man of God – you will be missed. A private Lear jet with nine passengers on board crashed on approach near Grand Bahama International Airport, killing everyone on the plane, including a prominent evangelical pastor and his wife. "The Department of Civil Aviation has been advised unofficially that the aircraft was destroyed and that there were no survivors," the Ministry of Transport and Aviation said in a statement to The Associated Press. The Lear 36 Executive Jet had taken off from the Bahamian

A Woman's Work Gets Done

Last winter was a harsh one at least it was for me. The back to back snowfall and back to back shoveling of snow was tedious, ugh!  This one particular day we received a substantial amount of snow somewhere between eight to ten feet. With only the women folk at home this day no one wanted to take on the task of shoveling snow.  Often one of the neighbors would come out to assist, but the previous week snow storm left us with four to six feet of snow. And now more snow on top of what was already there overwhelmed us all.  No one was available to help the other for having to shovel their own yard, which I understood.  It was a real mess.  So I ended up having to shovel the yard on my own.  Of course I was angry because I DID NOT WANT TO SHOVEL AT ALL. I was experiencing excruciating pain in my lower back and I was just miserable. I paused for a moment to pray, “Jesus, I need you to be my back”.  God promised in his word that he would supply my needs,  “ But my God shall supply all y

Does God Choose Your Spouse

Found this article at Matt Sorger website - A great read for singles As I travel throughout the Body of Christ, I’ve observed that a large part of the church is made up of single people of all ages.   Some are happy and content in their singleness and don’t have a desire for marriage.   Others are struggling to find the one God has for them.   If you desire marriage, God says He will fulfill the desires of your heart.   I recently taught a transparent message on my own journey of singleness to marriage.   I’ve learned important truths that I want to pass on to you. Fruitful Singleness Firstly, it’s important to realize that you can be fruitful, successful, and joyful as a single person.   I’ve served in full time ministry for 21 years as a single person.   I learned the importance of maximizing every season of life.   While I was single, I devoted myself to cultivating my relationship with God and His call on my life.   I’d spend many “alone” hours in prayer and worship,
