What I have learned about change is that it is usually the companion of hurt, pain and disappointment. Without its companions, change would probably never come. In fact, most people would prefer the same old same old to avoid what preludes change. I have found that in the midst of hurt, pain and disappointment, you have a choice. You can allow these three companions to take you under, or you can allow them to thrust you into a new direction; a direction you never considered. When I think about change, I liken it to women in childbirth who go through excruciating pain to bring forth new life. The pain soon gives way to joy, and a new journey begins. Embrace the unknown. Don’t worry about the how, why and what if. Be open and be ready for whatever God brings into your life.
Jeremiah 29:11 New International Version (NIV)
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
