He Is Our King

For the kingdom   is   the   Lord ’s, And He rules over the nations. Psalm 22:28

A Promise Is A Promise

As a little girl, one of my favorite things to do was not playing with dolls or barbies, although I did this quite often. And it wasn't  playing dress up or jumping rope, although I did this quite often as well. My favorite thing to do as a little girl was sucking my thumb. Yes, folks I was a thumb sucker, LOL I can remember how bewildered my mother was trying to break me of this habit.  She would often say, “You are going to get buck teeth”.  Once she rubbed hot sauce on my thumb. I just wiped it off and kept on sucking.   Knowing my mother she probably used more water than sauce. She did confess years later that it was mostly water. We laugh about it to this day. Eventually, my mother grew weary of trying to rid me of this habit. She hoped that I would grow out of it on my own as she put it.  Not even the teasing from siblings and cousins could deter me from sucking my thumb. The day did come when I wanted to stop sucking my thumb, but I could...

Inheritance

Greetings all in the name of Christ Jesus our Lord What a beautiful fall morning it is. I love the crisp weather and the colorful fall landscape. There is something about fall that is quieting and peaceful. It always puts me in the mood to bake, make homemade soup or have a hot cup of tea. Psalms 16:5-7 O   Lord ,   You are   the portion of my inheritance and my cup;You maintain my lot. The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places;Yes, I have a good inheritance. Since the passing of my father in April, my family have faced many challenges. The challenges, however, are self-inflicted as a result of family members not listening to one another and the other part is just plain greed. Our dad would be heartbroken to know that his children were at odds over money.  It is a sad thing to witness and my heart at times is grieved. I continue to pray for my siblings to surrender their heart totally to God and for God to reveal himself to them...

Do Not Be Afraid Of Their Faces

Do not be afraid of their faces, For I   am   with you to deliver you,” says the   Lord . Jeremiah 1:8 There is a need in all of us to be loved and accepted.  At times it can be a challenge to say what you really feel or believe because of opposing voices. We are afraid to be the one standing on the outside looking through the window.  I have experienced this and trust me it is not a comfortable feeling. It takes courage to speak the truth and silence is not always golden. We often refrain from speaking the truth in order to keep the peace, but without “Truth”, there is only a temporary peace.  Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the light”(John 14:6).  As followers of Jesus Christ, we must never be afraid to share the truth of His word. On the outside, their faces may appear as if uninterested (perhaps it may be true), but on the inside, God is doing a work and we must trust Him. Do not allow their faces (Outward appearance) to...

Don't Believe the Hype

Have you ever felt as if your life was going around in circles?  You try to move forward, but circumstances keep you at bay whether it is finances, fear, doubt, or the task seems impossible.  It can bring you to the point of frustration, which can be a good thing or a bad thing. I refer to frustration as a two sided coin. Frustration can cause you to make hasty decisions or it can cause you to question and search for answers. I am acquainted with the feeling of life going around in circles because I use to be that person.  I tend to believe that everything in your life serves a purpose, even frustration. God can use anything to redirect your steps and change your life.  “1 Corinthians 1:27 -   But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty”. The revelation as to why I believed my life was going around in circles did not come to me ...

My Face Is Set "I'm a Part of The Fellowship of the Unashamed"

Romans 1:16-17, NKJV   For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.   For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written,   “The just shall live by faith.” In 1980 a young man from Rwanda was forced by his tribe to either renounce Christ or face certain death.  He refused to renounce Christ, and he was killed on the spot.  The night before he had written the following commitment which was found in his room: “I’m part of the fellowship of the unashamed, the die has been cast, I have stepped over the line, the decision has been made- I’m a disciple of Jesus Christ.  I won’t look back, let up, slow down, back away or be still. My past is redeemed, my present makes sense, my future is secure.  I’m finished and done with low living, sight walking, smooth knees, colorless dreams, tamed vision, w...
