Great things come in little packages. Today at church I
heard a sermon on fear and how it keeps you in your comfort zone. Fear is a thief because it robs you of so many things. Fear keeps you from venturing out in to new things and
hold you captive to old things. It confirmed so many things in my heart and gave
me a new perspective on fear and how far reaching its tentacles.
I believe in these last days God wants our focus, dependency,
confidence and trust to be completely on Him. As in a marriage we must forsake all others and cleave only to Him. Think it not strange the
situations that seem to occur out of nowhere in your life. I believe it
is Gods gentle nudge drawing you to a place of intimacy with Him.
Remember, it is not about people and if this is the conclusion you come
to, you will miss what God is doing. Jesus prayed for us to be one, John
17:20-23, but in arriving to this place God must deal with us individually. You may
not understand it, others may not understand it, but let it go and flow with
God. There is a purpose for what is happening. Simply put, God
wants to do a work in you. He may be pruning, exposing, whatever it is, it is
for our good. God does this because of His great love for us. However, I do believe God will set you apart for a season for His purpose.
Today's sermon
was given by a young woman of whom is not in my circle of people I would choose
to minister, but God used this young woman to speak into my life. Never judge a
book by its cover. Boy, did I have some repenting to do - Thank you Jesus
for showing me the ugliness and evil of prejudging others.
Sometimes I feel I am alone, but in reality I know I am not
alone because God is with me. And I know without a doubt God loves me and
my life is in His capable, trustworthy hands and it gives me peace.
For years I have prayed Psalms 51:10-13, "create in me a clean heart
and renew a right spirit within me". Today I pray this with such fervency and
desire, because I want God to uproot anything in my life that will separate my
soul from Him.
There will be some in these last days, because of fear will not
stand up for what the Bible calls sin. Many will compromise out of fear of losing
their job, certain family members, friends, status and things they acquired. As
I heard today at church, "fear is a bully" and its
purpose is to keep you from obtaining all that God wants you to become in Him.
It was an excellent message and I believe now is the time for Gods people
to be a people of prayer, fearless, courageous, steadfast, uncompromising and
uncomfortable. Our heart must be surrendered to God if we are to shine
bright in the time of darkness.
