Everybody Ought to Know Who Jesus Is

13 When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?”
14 They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
15 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?”
16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
17 Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. 18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” 20 Then he ordered his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Messiah.

Feed My Sheep

Jesus Reinstates Peter John 21:15-20 New International Version (NIV) When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?” “Yes, Lord,” he said, “you know that I love you.” Jesus said,  “Feed my lambs.” Again Jesus said,  “Simon son of John, do you love me?” He answered, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.” Jesus said,  “Take care of my sheep.” The third time he said to him,  “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time,  “Do you love me?”  He said, “Lord, you know all things;  you know that I love you.” Jesus said,  “Feed my sheep.     Very truly I tell you, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go.”   Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death ...

Umbrella Lady

I have always admired this picture...the elegant lady with the umbrella...It reminds me of an expression my friend often says, " My Umbrella Has Holes ".  She was speaking of her life and some of the things she had experienced.  When I look at this picture I see my friend, an umbrella with out holes, happy, stately and strong. Do you ever feel like your umbrella has holes?  Life can sure make it feel that way at times.  Perhaps you are a single mother raising children on your own; or a college graduate having difficulty securing a job in your field. You may be a teenager feeling like you don't quite fit in. Maybe you are a victim of rape or incest and you feel so violated that you wonder if you will ever regain your life back. Perhaps you are sadden over a  loss of a job,or dealing with a sickness that have you asking, " Why Me ". These are certainly," My   umbrella has holes moments ".
