Reversal Of Decree

In  August of 2002 I traveled to Virginia on vacation. My good friend Shelby decided to  accompany me on the trip. We visited historic colonial homes, plantations and viewed artifacts centuries old. The museums we visited displayed beautifully hand woven quilts, elegant tea services and every day dishware. Each room told a story about the person who once lived there. What impressed me about women of long ago is that they were keepers and defenders of their home. They were mentors, teachers and women of distinction.

On my last night in Virginia, I began to feel heaviness in my spirit for women of today. I shared my thoughts with my friend as we discussed the events of the day. We turned in early for we were leaving the next day for home. I felt restless and could not sleep. My friend had already fallen to sleep, so I decided to stay up and pray. The heaviness I felt was still there, so I asked the Lord, “What happened to us as women”! Before I realized it, I had drifted off into a deep sleep, so I thought. I had a dream of a woman who was arrayed in fine linen, standing with such honor, beauty, femininity and dignity. All of sudden, the woman began removing her clothes. The way I saw it was the woman was traveling through time taking off an article of clothing as she transitioned. I was well aware of the times she traveling in by the flashing of 20’s, 40’s 70’s and so forth until she was completely naked.

I saw the woman trying to cover herself with her arms and hand. As I observed her, I noticed her appearance had changed. She was no longer the pictures of honor, beauty, femininity and dignity. The woman appeared drained of life. I have come to understand that the uncovered woman is symbolic of the fallen state and depravity of this present day generation of young women.

Through poor choices and embracing a life style that is void of God, values and morals, women have dishonored their body.

Women who have sex with a man on a first date; or have sex with a man to whom they are not married, or have multiple sex partners dishonor’s her body.

Women whose preference is to dress sexy and provocative, or take on an androgynous look, having both masculine and feminine characteristics, dishonor’s her body.

A woman who is foul mouth, vulgar and has a nasty disposition dishonor’s her body.

Women who have abortions and use abortion as a form of birth control dishonor’s her body.

Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have
received from God? You are not your own; you were brought with a price. Therefore honor God with your body”, (1 Cor. 6:19-20)

The enemy of your soul has decreed for you to never be free to serve God with all your heart. Satan’s decree is to kill, steal and destroy your life. (John 10:10) He would like to keep you from walking in the fullness of everything God has for you.

As it was in Queen Esther’s day, Haman put forth an evil decree to annihilate the Jewish people. God intervened and the decree was reversed. This is celebrated today as Purim. Purim means reversal of decrees.

Through Jesus triumph at the cross, the decree of the enemy’s plan over your life is reversed. You can now come boldly to the throne of grace to receive mercy, be cleansed from sin, to allow God to cover you with His garment and receive power to live a holy life.

Miriam

Miriam was the big sister of Moses. Her name (sometimes rendered as Mary in English) means 'bitter' although it could also signify 'one who loves or is loved by Yahweh'. Yahweh means 'the self-existent one'. Yahweh is one of the ways the children of Israel referred to God. Meet the family Amram and Jochebed were the father and mother of Miriam, Aaron and Moses. Moses was the youngest of the three yet became the leader of the pack (Exodus 2:3-4; Exodus 6:20; Numbers 26:59). Moses was the man who led Israel out of Egypt. As the big sister of the family Miriam knew all the secrets. Women often get to know about things that men don't. When Pharaoh of Egypt decreed the death of all Israel baby boys in a desperate attempt to curb the growth of Israel, Amram and Jochebed put baby Moses into a waterproof basket and set it on the river in an attempt to save his life. It was Miriam who was watching the basket when the daughter of Pharaoh discovered it. It w...

Feed My Sheep

Jesus Reinstates Peter John 21:15-20 New International Version (NIV) When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?” “Yes, Lord,” he said, “you know that I love you.” Jesus said,  “Feed my lambs.” Again Jesus said,  “Simon son of John, do you love me?” He answered, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.” Jesus said,  “Take care of my sheep.” The third time he said to him,  “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time,  “Do you love me?”  He said, “Lord, you know all things;  you know that I love you.” Jesus said,  “Feed my sheep.     Very truly I tell you, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go.”   Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death ...

Deborah

Deborah was a prophet, a leader (otherwise known as a Judge) in Israel as well as the wife of Lappidoth (Judges 4:4).  Deborah means 'bee'. Bees are responsible for pollination of flowering plants. Pollination is what creates seeds that grow into other plants. One third of the human food supply depends on insect pollination of plants and bees play a major role in this 1 . The biblical Deborah, like a bee, fulfilled an active and vital role in bringing life to the community. Background After the death of Joshua, the man who had led the Israelites into the land of Canaan, God raised up Judges to lead and rule Israel. The first Judges God used were Othniel, Ehud and Shamgar (Judges 3). And then came Deborah. In Deborah's day Israel had no overall leader. Everyone did whatever they pleased and the nation fell into sin and were oppressed by the Canaanites (Judges 21:25). Jabin was the Canaanite king during the era of Deborah. Sisera was the commander of Jabin's...
