In Honor of Mother's Day

At Grandma’s House, Where the light is always on

You know how they say, “whenever you see a rainbow it leads to a pot of gold”? Well, Grandma is our pot of Gold

There’s a lot of love in my grandma’s house – it’s a place where you can go if you are hungry or feeling low. It’s a place where you can feel Gods hand of protection. Whenever we didn’t feel well, Grandma applied the holy oil. Growing up, we believed the anointing oil was a cure all for all things. And if we had a restless night, Grandma would let us sleep in her room.

Grandma always has a word of encouragement or a word of correction, whichever is needed. Her arms are always open and her smile is as big as her heart – this is Grandma’s house – where the light is always on.

A strong and gentle lady is my grandma-she raised four kids on her own. A bible in one hand and a belt in the other – with the bible she taught us right from wrong and the belt for when we got out of line. We are thankful for her love, discipline and guidance. It has kept us all out of harm’s way – Grandma has the kind of love you can never forget - my grandma’s house – where the light is always on.

Black eyed peas with okra, lima beans, baked chicken and cornbread; is what Sunday dinners are like. The aroma of it all fills the air and it greets you at the door. It leaves your mouth watering and it brings you to your knees. You can smell that good cooking from the sidewalk and we all come a running. Grandma’s famous pancakes with cheese, salmon croquets, homemade biscuits, grits, eggs and jelly breakfast is how many a day began. There is always good eats at my grandma’s house, where the light is always on.

When you come to my grandma’s house you may find her singing or praying, “Come this far by Faith” her praise fills the room and at times we join in with her. She taught us how to pray, gathering us as small children around her bed as she prayed aloud. Grandma taught us to trust in God even when it seemed impossible. Her prayers and unyielding faith in God carried us through the trying times. Grandma instilled in us a since of confidence by encouraging us to know God for ourselves. A phenomenal and virtuous woman is she – that’s my grandma, her light is always on.

Phyllis, Patricia, Stacey, Jerome and all the grandchildren

What Happen To Your Rulership?

My desire is for women to be restored to their rightful place of rulership of Grace, Femininity, Beauty, Temperance, and Excellence.  Together they work from within and shine outwardly. The enemy of our soul works counterclockwise in that he uses the exterior and destroys what is on the inside. There is a direct correlation between rulership and judgment.  In order to effectively rule, there must be the practice of sound judgment.  When rulership is void of sound judgment, a poor rulership is inevitable.  Rulership is a choice.  You can either rule or be ruled.  Walking in rulership is important because it sets order and establishes boundaries.  God (YAH) has given us rulership over our conduct, appearance, and speech.  These things have rulership over you by choice. Rulership is the difference between YAH's people and the world. Rulership is living the way YAH (God) intended for us to live before the foundation of the world. It is time ...

Feed My Sheep

Jesus Reinstates Peter John 21:15-20 New International Version (NIV) When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?” “Yes, Lord,” he said, “you know that I love you.” Jesus said,  “Feed my lambs.” Again Jesus said,  “Simon son of John, do you love me?” He answered, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.” Jesus said,  “Take care of my sheep.” The third time he said to him,  “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time,  “Do you love me?”  He said, “Lord, you know all things;  you know that I love you.” Jesus said,  “Feed my sheep.     Very truly I tell you, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go.”   Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death ...

Umbrella Lady

I have always admired this picture...the elegant lady with the umbrella...It reminds me of an expression my friend often says, " My Umbrella Has Holes ".  She was speaking of her life and some of the things she had experienced.  When I look at this picture I see my friend, an umbrella with out holes, happy, stately and strong. Do you ever feel like your umbrella has holes?  Life can sure make it feel that way at times.  Perhaps you are a single mother raising children on your own; or a college graduate having difficulty securing a job in your field. You may be a teenager feeling like you don't quite fit in. Maybe you are a victim of rape or incest and you feel so violated that you wonder if you will ever regain your life back. Perhaps you are sadden over a  loss of a job,or dealing with a sickness that have you asking, " Why Me ". These are certainly," My   umbrella has holes moments ". Although we may have our umbrella has holes moments/sea...
