Reversal Of Decree

  In  August of 2002 I traveled to Virginia on vacation. My good friend Shelby decided to  accompany me on the trip. We visited historic colonial homes, plantations and viewed artifacts centuries old. The museums we visited displayed beautifully hand woven quilts, elegant tea services and every day dishware. Each room told a story about the person who once lived there. What impressed me about women of long ago is that they were keepers and defenders of their home. They were mentors, teachers and women of distinction. On my last night in Virginia, I began to feel heaviness in my spirit for women of today. I shared my thoughts with my friend as we discussed the events of the day. We turned in early for we were leaving the next day for home. I felt restless and could not sleep.
