Happy New Year - Welcome 2014

Believing God’s best for you and your family in this New Year, Renewed Hope, Good Health, Love and Happiness.

Unshakeable Faith

He has made everything beautiful in its time.  He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom  what God has done from beginning to end.     I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live.   That each of them may eat and drink,  and find satisfaction  in all their toil—this is the gift of God.     I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that people will fear him.     Whatever is has already been,    and what will be has been before;    and God will call the past to account. Ecclesiastes  3:11-15 Another year is coming to a close and a new year will soon be here - out with the old and in with the new.  The one constant in all this is Jesus.  Regardless how things change, He remains the same; and  His word never changes.  ...

Manoah's Wife

Judges Chapters 13 - 14 The story of Manoah's wife is one of the most incredible stories in the Bible. It is a beautiful story that demonstrates the love and power of the God who we serve. Manoah was the father of Samson. He married a woman who was sterile and childless. (Judges 13). One day the angel of the Lord appeared to Manoah's wife and told her she would have a child. Many Bible scholars believe that the term "the angel of the Lord" refers to the special appearances of Jesus prior to his physical birth via Mary. The Lord did appear to people during the period of the Old testament in the form of a man (Genesis 18). There are also several occurrences that refer to the appearance of "the angel of the Lord" (Genesis 16:7; 22:11; 31:11; Exodus 3:2; 14:19; Judges 2:1; 13:3; Zechariah 3:1-6) Manoah's wife was one of the few people who the angel of the Lord appeared to. The angel appeared as a man (Judges 13:11-15) and his words gave the barren ...

The First Noel

Thank God for the precious gift of Jesus Christ                                  John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Merry Christmas

The War On Christmas Rages

John Gibson is one of the commentators I enjoy listening to on Fox News Radio. He always has been an outspoken advocate of helping to preserve Christmas as a sacred Christian holiday in an era where it has increasingly grown politically incorrect to even mention Christmas. Gibson was so outraged by this trend that he wrote a book a few years ago titled  The War on Christmas. Gibson gave examples of the censorship that has become common and has accelerated in recent years. For instance, you can’t say “Merry Christmas” at school or the office anymore, but only “Happy Holidays”; you can’t go caroling in public; if you put up a tree for decoration, it must be called a “friendship tree," not a Christmas tree. He reported that Santa Claus was banned from one school in Kansas and that in Plano, Texas, some overzealous school board officials actually told parents they couldn’t use red and green to decorate! In contrast, non-Christian holidays such as Hanukkah, Ramadan and Kwanzaa ...

Thank You Jesus

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name   Jesus : for he shall save his people from their sins. Matthew 1:21, KJV

Happy Birthday

Haggai 2:9 King James Version (KJV) The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the  Lord  of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the  Lord  of hosts. Thankful to God for allowing me to celebrate another birthday – God is good!   These past few years have been challenging, but God promised that my ladder years will be greater than my former – I hold firmly to His promise.   His word never returns void : Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. I look forward to another year of serving God with my whole heart, mind and soul.   Jesus is the best thing that will ever happen to me.   I am thankful that He is mine and I am His. Enjoying a blessed day in the Lord Have a blessed and wonderful day All

10 Ways To Deal With Loss During The Holidays

Today, on Cyber Monday, I won’t be shopping. I will be attending the funeral of my neighbor who, at 64 years of age, was working in his yard and died. His death was sudden and unexpected. I wished him Happy Thanksgiving before I left to visit family and a few hours later he collapsed in his yard. I will never see or speak to him again. His wife never saw it coming. Now, she will face the holidays without her husband of 40 years. So sad. When I was on Janet Parshall’s radio show a few weeks ago, so many of the calls were about loss during the holidays. So for all of us who have lost a loved one during this time, here are some tips to help us get through this time, grieve, remember, but not get stuck in our grief. 1)  Grieve.  Acknowledge the loss and allow the feelings to come. So many things can trigger grief during this time–music, commercials, photographs, etc. The year my mom died just before Christmas, I remember baking and suddenly feeling overwhelmed. I needed to...

Word for Today

“‘In the last days, God says,      I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy,      your young men will see visions,      your old men will dream dreams.   Even on my servants, both men and women,      I will pour out my Spirit in those days,      and they will prophesy.   I will show wonders in the heavens above      and signs on the earth below,      blood and fire and billows of smoke.   The sun will be turned to darkness      and the moon to blood      before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord.   And everyone who calls      on the name of the Lord  will be saved Acts 2:17-21, NIV

Mary Mother of Jesus

Mary is one person who could claim to be close to the Lord Jesus Christ from the beginning till the end of his earthly ministry. What an insight she must have had. She witnessed his birth (Luke 2:4-21), his dedication in the temple (Luke 2:22-40), his young growing up years (Luke 2:41-52). Mary obviously went through turbulent times. She knew her child was special. Indeed she called on him to help out at a feast when the wine ran out (John 2:1-12). Notice in this chapter that Mary and Jesus' brothers are mentioned but not his father. It is reasonable to assume that Joseph had died before Jesus started his ministry on earth as he is never mentioned after the birth narratives. Mary was a woman who had to carry a heavy burden. First she was misunderstood by her husband to be, and no doubt her immediate family, only God knows what they would have made of the 'virgin birth theory'. Secondly, she would have found it hard to fully understand her own son as he got more an...

Word for Today

And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name  Jesus . He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? And the angel answered and said un...
