Christmas is a joyous time in our home. We celebrate the birth of Christ with the giving of gifts, decorating our home, a Christmas Eve gathering and a Christmas day feast. On Christmas Eve we welcome friends over for dessert, coffee, etc. This year I opted to not have our annual Christmas Eve get together and just have a time of relaxation. I was tired from the hustle and bustle of shopping, working long hours and little sleep. But my 17 year old niece was not so happy with my suggestion. She had invited her friends over from school to join us. Well, scratch that suggestion. Celebration back on. Then I began to reflect back over the years the many people who stopped by our home. Our neighbors, close friends and unexpected visitors. For some Christmas is a lonely time and it helps to know that someone cares.
